A Hessian Wedding... totally Little Mud Hut yumminess

Talloula... what can I say but you rock my Little Hut's world..... Look at this gorgeous combination and styling for a recent wedding at Tala Game Reserve.... My little hut made the lace and hessian buntings, lace and hessian table runners and yummy lace and hessian wine bottle wraps with table numbers stamped on them. I am totally inlove with the combination of these pinks, purples and mauve teamed with stoneware, glass, tin and hessian.... ahhhh my beloved hessian.. Always exciting to see the end result... thank you Glynnis for sending me some photos. If you getting married.... Glynnis is definately the MUST HAVE co-ordinator extra-ordinaire.... three words from the hut.... YUM yum and yummy...

HCPS Fundraising Layout

Another successful fundraising event held at Hillcrest Primary School..... thank you to all that contributed by helping, donating and mostly by attending the worth cause. As promised, some close up views of my class taught. Remember, HOMEGROWN and LOCAL can be beautiful and we have some really great companies making some great products here in South Africa. Support local by purchasing papers and supplies from companies like FABSCRAPS, PAPER EXPLOSION, LOVE INSPIRED, and LITTLE MUD HUT DESIGNS. Don't under estimate the beautiful and simple things you can make with a little imagination and some cotton and a needle..... looking forward to seeing many finished and completed layouts....

Adding staples is a cheap embellishment that I love using on my layouts. If you look closely you will notice too that I added two tiny pearls to the large butterflies body.

Add a beatiful porcelian heart embellishment handmade by my talented friend Natasha Hook of LOVE INSPIRED.... Thank you Natasha for your beautiful work



Embellished title area on left side of page. Layered title, tag, hessian and word strips adds alot of interest, dimension and appeal to your layouts. Notice staples being used again in the area....



Dot the "i" with a large FABSCRAPS pearl....



 

Adding tiny FABSCRAPS pearls to the edging....



Add folds to your ribbon to help draw the eye to embellished areas of your layout and fasten down with brads.... this adds more interest than simply running your ribbon flat across your layouts.



Notice the tiny pearls I added onto the patterned paper.... glued to the centers of the damask design on the paper...





The flap up to reveal more photographs underneath......



With the flap "flapped" open the underlying photos are displayed like this.....



Make your own vintage inspired embellishment with this gorgeous FABSCRAP pearl brad added to the center of one of your lace rosette flowers. 



I added my pearl centred lace rosette flower to my layout with a foam "pop-dot" to again add dimension to my layout.

Creating Happiness at Sicas Guest Lodge

WOW, what a day..... beautiful venue, 60 mad about scrapbooking ladies, delicious food and happy memories created this last Saturday at Scrapkits annual Sica's Scrapbook Day... Thank you to everyone who attended and to Tracy for inviting me to teach at her event.

My layout was as BRIGHT as the day..... as BUSY as a bee and definately patterned paper OVERDOSE. A rather different layout for my style, usually having more cardstock than pattern.... but it was well received and filled with fun happy techniques. Oh and of course total and utter CUTESY overload..... was waiting to see some more cuteness creep out with little birds to sit on the roof, perhaps a sun with rays streaming over, or even a chimney, but alas.... many ladies still need to finish off layouts at home, so perhaps some new idea will still show up. A layout to show some of the things that make our home a one....

the underside of the stapled ribbon is not so pretty, hide by adding a flower ontop of page protector (see next image)



 

Making FLOWERS...................

Using liquid glue to attach stem in shape and position you require...



Add foam circles to patterned paper and cut around each one. Add foam to flowers. I
added  diamond  glaze for extra dimension and just because I Loooove diamond glaze

Add flowers to stems....

Cross stitch over stems for added anchoring and just because I Looooove to stitch :)



Wha - la..... done...



Add ribbon to stems as leaves....

  Day over.... I went to bed early, slept in on Sunday morning and even had a nap on Sunday afternoon..... totally knackered but with a happy heart. I love teaching, so refreshing and fun. Thanks again to every one of the ladies for the laughs, chats, and 100% fun day.

I have been working on so many ideas lately that I wish more hours in my days to put these into action. That is the problem when you have a creative mind that never stops to rest and focus on the job in hand, but continuously is dreaming up new and exciting ideas.
I am truly looking forward to trying to set a few more of these in motion and glad to say that scrapbooking is high on that list too. So looking forward to setting new things in motion... getting them from my thoughts into completed projects.... and sharing alot more too.
For now, my love of crafting and creating can be seen and bought at the above open day and hopefully in the near future be available in a few local shops.
Off to get some sleep so I can can create some happiness with a fresh head in the morning again....
